21st Annual Montgomery Memorial Track & Field Meet

Please highlight Thursday, May 2, 2019 on your calendar – the date for the 21st Annual Montgomery Memorial Track & Field Meet.  This meet honors the memory of William Tennent teacher and coach Ken Montgomery while providing local high school athletes with one of their best opportunities to meet District 1 qualifying standards.

We cordially invite alumni and friends of Tennent to participate in this year’s meet in one of three ways:

First, be a volunteer worker at the meet. We need adult assistance for the eleven PIAA officials who will oversee the events – measuring, raking, helping get athletes into the track in their proper lanes, retrieving implements, and a myriad of other undertakings.  You can volunteer to work either from 3:00 to 6:30 or 6:00 to 9:30 or 3:00 to 9:30 by contacting Chick Donnelly at dk984@aol.com or Ted Abel at tedabel1@verizon.net.  We will supply any knowledge you need for the meet and will give you “dinner” and include your participation in the program booklet.

Second, become a financial supporter of the meet.    Checks should be made payable to the William Tennent Alumni Association; on the notation line please write “Montgomery Memorial Meet.”  You can mail your tax exempt donations to Mr. Paul Cozza, William Tennent High School, 333 Centennial Road, Warminster PA 18974.  Please feel free to include a brief note about your WT memories, your current status, your family, and so on so that we can include it in the program along with our thanks for your donation.

Finally, come watch the meet.  The senior recognition begins at about 3:15, the field events begin at 3:30, and the track events start promptly at 4:00.  There is no admission fee, but we do have t-shirts for sale ($10) to help defray the costs of running this meet.

On behalf of the hundreds of athletes who participate in the MMM, thank you for your help.
